Jiang Yu
Environmental Architect and Curator
Graduated from the Royal College of Art with a major in Environmental Architecture.

Starting from the perspective of architectural, artistic, and local practices under cross-scale environmental changes, she conducts sustainable environmental architectural design research through satellite remote sensing and big data analysis, and explores the organic renewal of cities and spaces across disciplines.

Unfettered aims to construct a free form between nature and all things. The work is based on the local natural environment of Ziyang and the nomadic lifestyle platform DNβ built for digital nomads, using wind as the source of power and plant structures as the main narrative expression, dynamically outlining the positive interaction between humans and all things in nature. The installation is composed of mirrored stainless steel stems, spiral blades, and rotating wind chimes. Whenever the wind blows across the grassland, the installation is driven by the airflow, reflecting the changes of the environment in the interlaced light and shadow, constructing a new field of identity consciousness for digital nomads, and stimulating the viewer's thoughts on self and self-consistency, feeling the pure and tranquil power of the surrounding environment.
